This is an update of the RF-4C Phantom for FS2002 by AlphaSim. I have updated the flight dynamics, added a panel, changed the smoke effects, added afterburner effects, added the forth wheel, and repositioned all the contact points. This is the whole aircraft.

This update was done at the request of Terri White.

Unzip to a folder of your choice. Copy the aircraft folder to the main FS aircraft folder. Copy the gauges and effects to the main FS gauges and effects folders. The folder in the gauges folder goes in as a folder. No need to overwrite anything that is already there.

The panel with the aircraft is an F-15 panel that I modified and use with most 2 engine fighters. Since this aircraft did not have a working panel, I included it. The smoke effects don't work automatically. You have to press the I key to toggle them on or off. The reason for this is that I found that it was the F-14 effects control gauge that was keeping the landing light switch from staying on. If you have my updated F-15 panel and are using it in any aircraft that you would rather be able to have the landing light switch working properly, more than automatic smoke effects, replace the panel.cfg file with the one in this update.

If you wish to use a different panel, you will have to go into the aircraft.cfg file and change, or remove, the f15 from 'panel=f15'or the panel won't show. You may also have to copy the effects control gauge from the panel.cfg to your new panel.cfg file. If so, copy it at the end of the first window and make sure that the gauge number is at least one higher than the gauge above it.

Look under McDonnell_Douglas to find the aircraft.

The effects control gauge is from the DSB Typhoon.

This aircraft does not have a working landing light, so don't expect to see one when toggling the switch or using the keyboard.

If you are like me you don't care for the paint job much. It can be brought into most paint programs and repainted, so for those who are so inclined, feel free. While I can do a repaint, it is not something I like to do.

A tip for those who have said yes, instead of no, when asked to disable the unsupported features of an aircraft. Go to the C:\drive or the drive where your operating system is, then go: Documents and settings\your name\Application Data\Microsoft\Fs9\Fs9.cfg. Open Fs9.cfg and page down 7 times, find the aircraft, and change the 0 after the = to a 1. Close and save the file. You should now have the features back.

If this doesn't work. There is an Fs9.cfg.txt file just below the Fs9.cfg file that you will have to open and page down 7 times, find the aircraft, and delete the aircraft from the file; or like in the Fs9.cfg file change the 0 to a 1 and save the file. If you need to do this, you will then have to go back to the Fs9.cfg file and change the 0 to a 1 again.
